Everything in our standard range is Arabic gum from the Acacia senegal tree, bought as graded nodules in the Sudan gum belt and processed in our facility in Rawang, Malaysia. The difference between our products is only how far we take it.
Whole nodules are cleaned and sorted but otherwise left as the tree made them, for buyers who dissolve or mill the gum in their own process. Arabic gum powder is crushed, ground and sieved to 80 mesh as standard, or to a coarser or finer specification, for beverages, confectionery, supplements and coatings.
Instant grades are granulated so they wet and dissolve quickly, and can be blended with fruit extracts, probiotic cultures or added vitamins to a customer brief. There is no spray drying in our process. Whole nodules and plain powder are the gum alone, with nothing added; an instant blend contains only what its formulation specifies.
The specification below gives typical values for food-grade Acacia senegal gum. Where a lot analysis is needed, an external laboratory recognised by the Malaysian Ministry of Health issues it, and that report governs.
